“Thanks to my specialization, I soon began to write special interest articles for the media and appeared as a speaker at events.”

Steffen, how did you find your way to blueSummit?

My bachelor thesis was on SEA (Prices and Clicks in Search Engine Marketing). At the time, a joint project was being conducted by SoQuero and the Goethe University in Frankfurt to take a closer look at the precise workings of the Google AdWords bidding mechanisms. As I came through my bachelor studies with flying colors – and went on to win the Alfred Gerardi Memorial Prize – my professor recommended me to SoQuero. SoQuero immediately offered me a permanent job. So I actually began work only a couple of days after submitting my bachelor thesis. I then became a summiteer when blueSummit acquired SoQuero in the fall of 2014.

How has your career developed since then?

I began as a junior Account Manager SEA. At that time, I was responsible for numerous online stores and focused on the field of Google Shopping. After only 18 months, I was promoted to Account Manager SEA and I’ve now been a Senior Account Manager SEA since 2014.

What do you appreciate the most of blueSummit?

I was involved in exciting projects for prominent clients from the first moments on. I also have a fantastic and very helpful team around me. I have absolute trust in my colleagues and my boss. This trust is mutual. I can work independently the way that suits me best and take on other tasks that go far beyond account management.

What are your responsibilities, and what projects are you working on?

My tasks and responsibilities include project management, contract extension, setting up and optimizing accounts, as well as consulting services and recommendations for SEO and social media marketing.

I began here with only three countries. In the meantime, I manage campaigns in more than 25 countries from segments including travel, tools, lingerie, packaging, watches, furniture, and B2B.

In addition to account management, I also give talks at various conferences or school my colleagues on topics like SEO-SEA and SEA Social Media.

What do you usually do when you’re not at the office?

I’m an enthusiastic sportsman. I have a real passion for snowboarding. Otherwise, I love to travel a lot and spend my spare time with friends.
